PERSONAL PROJECT

The Covid Art Museum

During the COVID-19 many artists and amateurs poured their time into art. These artistic expressions reflected on our new reality, and spoke about feelings we could all relate to.

And we wondered: what is going to happen with all this art? Is it going to get lost? How could we spread it and preserve it for the future?

That’s how on March 19th The Covid Art Museum was born, the first digital museum exhibiting art created during the pandemic.

Awards & Recognition:
The Library of Spain included it in its historical archives
QuèFem? Award for Best Artistic Initiative
Esquire Magazine Man of the Year 2020
2020 Spanish Creativity Yearbook

CASE

22 million impressions

The Instagram account @covidartmuseum received more than 22M impressions.
In just 2 months the followers rose up to 100.000

+70.000 artworks

We received more than 70K artworks from professional and amateurs artists. The CAM managed to awaken the interest of thousands of people in art. The artists obtained a greater visibility achieving in many cases work proposals in a context of global economic crisis.

+120 countries

More than 120 countries participated in submitting artworks. Despite the fact that the CAM was born in a context with strong limitations imposed by the virus, it managed to become a totally open space, thanks to its digital nature. The museum became a space for co-creation in which a questionnaire allowed the submission of works along with the personal testimony of each author.

222.000 articles worldwide

The project received international coverage from thousands of media outlets around the world, helping us achieve our main goals: to collect, show and preserve the covid art over time, to give visibility to the artists, and to build connections among people going through the same experience.

“Your timing is perfect and so is the name. The idea to have all this work collected on a designated account on IG is perfect”
